'Formula' for eternal glory

They live in a world of screeching tyres, burning rubber, and the scream of high-powered engines. They create legends on tracks leaving behind trails of spent fuel, spilt champagne and
bruised egos. Their personal demons drive them in pursuit of the ultimate trophy in motor car racing. These are the men, those magnificent men in their flying machines.

Yes I am talking about the amazing world of Formula 1. Dont get surprised, i've got this habbit of sensationalizing (pulp fictioning) stuff so dont get flabbergasted (see did it again). I have been watching F1 for almost a decade now and i developed what you call as love in first sight with the sport. F1 has got a fire in it which has the potential of rekindilling lives of dying souls(dammit there i go again, hehehe but this one is good).

The names of Schumacher, Alonso, Raikonnen are not unknown to many. What i want to highlight here are the heroes of the bygone era - from the 50's to late 80's. Why oh why u may ask. Well nowadays F1 is invariably a technological frenzy (one might even call it a technological orgy and it would make more sense).Having said that, the role of the driver has by no means diminished in any way(some might beg to differ). Ok consider this - by adjusting the front wing of the car to the tune of 0.1 degree one can make a hell lot of a difference on the top speed, braking, cooling and heating of engine and brakes and a whole gamut of other parameters(so weak-i know).

Juan Fangio (ring any bells)- Argentinian, the 50s was dominated by this man winning 5 World
Championships- a record that was broken after half a century later(by u all know who). This guy was a flyer(is that a word) and was known to drive on instincts.

Ayerton da Silva Senna - One of my personal favs. Ok this might seem a big jump landing straight to mid 80s but frankly i dont know much about people in between- its like there are
only two periods of time -yesteryear and present(Ok that was pathetic, i know. But for gods sake its only my second blog). Back to Senna. The most aggresive and ruthless driver ever to hand a steering wheel. His intense egoistic rivalry with Desmond Hill even when they were in the same team is legendary. The best driver in Wet conditions. I simply crave to see his racing videos.

How could you forget Alain Prost(but forget him for the time being). Another genius- Mika Hakkinen. True that he raced in a Mclaren which was way superior to any other car in the grid but this guy was a perfect mix of prudence and aggression. I cannot forget his overtaking maneouver over Shcumi using a back marker If you have seen it u will know what i mean. Simply majestic.

Ok you need a whole new post to talk about the legend Schumi(yup my all time fav).

Dont know why I wrote this blog guess just wanted to speak about F1. See ya soon(ya baby u havent seen the last of meeeeeee)...
